The user interface takes unique advantage of the touch screen of the iPhone/iPod Touch. With this program, I find it easier to make moves and follow a classic game than I do on my laptop. Quite an achievement!

I bought all the other chess database. This is the best so far but not perfect. The board color is somewhat busy. Can we please have option for plain color? Can you please provide manual on how to load games from your pc?

Large database, including many very significant games. Excellent for playing through classics some key classic games. Havent tried to load my own games, so I cant yet speak to that. Only problem is that I could not open the Kasprov database.

An amazing app for enthusiasts for entertainment and to take your game to the next level. Really well conceived software.

Simple clean interface, and the provided databases arent bad. Ive verified that I can download a pgn database from another site, although I ran into problems doing with my own databases from my Google and Angelfire sites. That must just be a matter of getting my sites set up right, though. I ran into a problem when I created an empty database and tried to enter one of my own games. It went okay up to a point, and then wouldnt accept the move input for the next move. Tried it over and over, thinking maybe I wasnt touching the board quite right but no, it just wouldnt work. The moves were 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 e6 4.e3 Nf6 5.Nc3 Nbd7 6.Bd3 dxc4 7.Bxc4 b5 8.Bd3 a6 9.e4 c5 10.e5 cxd4 11.Nxb5 axb5 12.exf6, only it wouldnt accept 12. exf6. It would accept some other moves, so looks like a bug somewhere.

Ive been waiting for something like this. I also really enjoy the annotated games. Great job! Very instructional

Thanks for adding FEN support. This app is easy to use and very helpful. I can use pgns with puzzles. Lessons included are also very helpful. I have one suggestion - if possible save the current file, game and move on exit. Load that position when app is started again. Also show game number when listing games in the pgn so it can be searched quickly.

I was impressed with the detailed instructions before buying and very pleased with the Support after. The idea that I can have all my games (+ many more), with a diagram at every move, contained in something smaller than any of my books is amazing but true. Now its impossible for me to be trapped in a boring place with nothing to do.

While I generally like and appreciate its value and all that it has to offer, it has some bugs and crashes frequently.

I highly recommend chess fans to get this app, if they have iPod, iPhone or an iPad! A lovely way to study chess wherever you are. Keep up this good work Owen! One suggestion though: add a category about end game database. I know this is not easy.

Nice collection of games. Board/piece style is shaggy. Some basic problems: 1. No way to delete a DB. 2. No way to delete a game from a DB. 3. No way to mark a game and then filter on the mark (so that games are not looked at twice). 4. No way to search DB for a position, opening, player, etc. No way to filter games in general. The windows/linux version from Source Forge is very good, but this version is pretty weak in features. I am revising my review: the author has informed me of how to delete a DB and game within DB (swipe to the right). This program is not associated with the same-named program on Source Forge.

Game collection is greag ANC the endgame/middlegame stuff is great study material but inputting a game is a pain in the bug as it seems a touch too sensitive, ill input a game and accidentally press the finish button... Which would be a problem if there was an edit and delete function.

Cannot see board since last upgrade. Totally useless now.

This is my favorite chess program, I have 6 others. Buy this! I like it even better after 6 months But then I downloaded the new updated version. Now the board and pieces are missing. The original software is no longer available. Please fix this. The newest version works very well on my iPhone. The author is quite helpful, responds promptly with remarkible courtesy.

Cancel button when entering a game needs the feature, "Are you sure you want to cancel" as it is too easy to press cancel when entering moves and loose all are game info.

Way better than expected! I was expecting a smallish database without any instruction-I was totally wrong! Lots of annotated games. Large database of practical endgames with notes. Ability to upload pgn files means it will never run out of value. Great app for anyone seeking chess training :-)

This app is with great material. Games collections are good. But its not well tested. For example; Annotated immortal game 1938 Botvinnik Capablanca At move 26.Re6, there is a variation, follow that variation to the end, the app will crash. Repeatable bug.

Good content, but entering your own games is a problem. I spent the time and entered 10 or so games and then 2 days later they were not viewable. They were still there, you just couldnt view them. Ive tried this app a couple of different times over a period of years and this as always been an issue. Obviously the developer does not plan to ever fix the problem. Its a shame, could be really good.

This is a great database program with interesting games but the software crashes frequently and has many other glitches. The developer should update it. Until this happens, stay away.
